I know how difficult it is to go through so much so fast with no break and your hope gets worn thin. I dunno where I'd be without God's grace.

Oh, everybody, thank you so much! I haven't even looked at the forums for weeks I think, and when I return I see that you are still thinking of me, that's SO SWEET OF YOU! I am totally overwhelmed by Ernest's illness and by the enormity of it all. Ernest used to have his good and bad days and now he has mostly bad days. He nearly died two weeks ago, just the night before I was about to take our son Sean to college: I left the hospital at 9:30 pm just as they were beginning a new treatment on him, and at 1 a.m. he suffered a severe anaphylactic shock and they barely saved him. I used to think I was a strong person but these days I barely manage to hold myself together. Sometimes I'm OK and sometimes I fall apart. It's impossible to make any plans for anything, because everything can change in a second. The unpredictibility of life is one of the more difficult things here.
You are probably wondering about Atticus: we missed some classes but he did graduate from his obedience class with high honors. He was especially good at down, down stay, stay, and come. We will go on to the next step starting in November. He will be 7 months next Sunday and weighs 77 lbs. His ears never straightened up but he still manages to look magnificent, very stately with a broad head and lovely gait. His hind legs are very uncoordinated, though, and he trips on the smallest of stairs. I have ramps set up for him at most entrances. He's a big goofball at this point, playing a silly teenager to the hilt. His favorite game is soccer- I kick and he runs after the ball. He's getting very bossy with other dogs now where previously he was quite shy. He still hates the piano which I really find annoying. Other than that he is a nice easy-going fellow.
All righty, am getting exhausted, I don't get almost any down time lately, so off to bed with me. Thank you so much for thinking of us. I don't have any family here so I am truly doing it all by myself and it is at times a bit too much. Good wishes and thoughts are always appreciated. Good night.

I'm near Philadelphia- and while my school age child makes traveling difficult- please know that you are welcome to come by (with the pups) for some R&R anytime. We're pretty good company if you need a break. I know how hard it is going through a crisis without family close by. If there's anything I can do- please let me know. I am so glad to hear from you!!!, you have been in our thoughts daily, I am always hopeful and praying for you and ernest. I am so glad to hear that Ernest is still fighting, god bless him, he does have great strength.

Also, thanks for the update of Atticus,,, Panza sounds so much like him,,, her ears are still not up either I massage them daily alot,, and they seem to go up and down some,, but still not up. she is nearing around 70's to almost 80 I have not weighed her in awhile,, but I cannot lift her anymore.... to heavy.

Please stay strong, and remember we are here for comfort and support.

Ditto! Ann is right. You are obviously very strong to keep going and I am also still praying for you. Just cling to Jesus and hang on. He will see you through all of this. I wish I was closer and I could offer more help.
