The old boy that comes to most of the SSONE events & has done so much PR for our breed, for so many years now was rushed to Tufts this morning, to have a mass removed from his spleen -- he pulled through the surgery OK, but he's not "home free" yet -- so PLEASE pray that he has a full recovery & the tests prove that he is cancer free!

I'd like to share a few words from his owner ...
quote:
Up until this morning he has been doing very well and showed no signs of ill health. It happened as if lightning struck him down out of the clear blue. If the mass is cancerous they give him three to six months.

Prayers for Sezar is all I ask of you.

I'll keep him in my thoughts. My GSD had a mass on his spleen back in August and it turned out to be benign, so hopefully Sezar's is as well!

Just a quick update ---
quote:
I was able to go into the ICU unit and see him today. He recognized me when I first got there but then he quickly dozed off because they just gave him some pain medicine. He was in and out all the time I was there (about three hours) but I know he knew who was stroking his paw and the side of his neck. He is totally shaved from one side, under the belly and the other side and has a huge incision all the way down his stomach, but he still looks better than he did yesterday. He is in an area where he has plenty of room to get up and walk in a circle if he so chooses. He also has a thick mattress with a lambs wool cover, a pillow under his head and a blanket to keep him warm. I wish I had a picture of him he looked so sweet. It will be a few days before he will be able to come home.

Thanks for all your prayers, they seem to be working. If he can get a negative reading on the tumor he will be completely over the hurdle and on his way to a complete recovery.

Praying that he gets a good report and that Sezar continues to heal up. He is one of the sweetest and gentlest dogs I have ever met. So many prayers go out for Sezar from here.

Another update
quote:
This is going to be a very rough recovery for the both of us. Tomorrow I find out whether the tumor is cancerous or benign. The doctors didn't give me much encouragement about it so I'm trying to prepare myself for the outcome bad or good. I still have Hope and am asking for more Prayers because that is all we have left and without Hope and our Health we would have nothing but we are a team so we have everything as long as we have each other.

God has been good to us so far and I pray for one more miracle each day, the miracle of love and Sezar's life.
