I am hoping you can include my parents in your prayers. Very recently, my mom's doctors found some spots on her lungs, and are checking her for cancer. I pray that we will get good news next week. If those results are clean, we will do scans again in 6 weeks. My father is still fighting multiple myeloma, and the thought that they may both have to battle cancer, has them in a crippling state of worry and fear. I know that even if we get good news next week, the next 6 weeks will be difficult.

It would sure help if it would stop snowing here so they could both get outside the house and at least think about gardening. (That's me being cranky.)

Thank you.

You got it, Virginia. That must be awful worrying, for both of them. Just a thought - maybe some garden catalogs, taking them on a trip to a garden center or Lowe's, or just something to take their minds off things?

Yes, actually, it would really help lift everyones spirits.... and it's better for health, too.
We've had a wonderful stretch of summerlike weather, here, and everyone feels so much better. sun smiley

Sending lots of prayers your way. It is hard enough with one parent being ill but not sure how you are handling two. Hang in there.

Hi everyone, thank you so much for the prayers and support. We did get good news on the two tests (yeah!) and now will wait four weeks for Mom to have another scan. I spoke with my Dad's oncologist today, just to get an informal second opinion. He feels, and my mom's doctor had said the same thing, that if they didn't see anything immediately suspicious in the first scan, 6 weeks is a standard wait period; otherwise they would be more aggressive with next steps. We are hanging on to that thought.

Thankfully, my niece has delivered a great distraction. She recently got engaged, and has been including my mother in some of the planning and some projects around decorations. My Mom loves a project. It's some of the best medicine for her, and she has really jumped on it.

Thank you again, I know that your prayers are helping. I just know that will get more good news in a few weeks.

Hi everyone, thank you so much for the prayers. I has been a long, scary process. But I am just so happy to report that biopsy results came back today and everything is benign. They will monitor her for a year, and they have given her the ok to have surgery for her thyroid (which is where this whole thing began.) I can't express my gratitude enough to you all and to Jesus. My heart if full and singing loud!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
