second opinion and she is scheduled for surgery next week...getting both removed because she didn't want to be lopsided..
we are praying for her now .

Oh dear. I'm not sure I understand the doctors taking off the second breast. I certainly understand her feelings... but the doctors should be able to give her some concelling. Frown

surgery scheduled today..
her husbands mom is coming from NEBRASKA to take care of house kids etc...help out for the month ..all will go well hoping ..

Lisa, Prayers that the surgeon's hands will be guided by angels.

Sarah, that procedure is not as bizarre as it sounds. With the genetic markers available today, there are women who are opting to have 'preventative' mastectomies before a cancer even starts, if their markers are high.
And with the plastic surgeries available today, there are quite a few options for reconstruction, and some that even work better with a double mastectomy.
